• The hospitals of the healthcare group are progressively implementing this initiative, which is already a success at the Vinalopó Hospital, and which establishes a protocol and facilitates pet visits for chronic or long-stay patients.
  • Two other Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, the “en blanco” campaign to raise awareness of the importance of talking about suicide and the original video and song to teach CPR to children, have been shortlisted as finalists.

The programme created and implemented by the Ribera healthcare group in several of its hospitals for the accompaniment of pets for chronic and long-stay patients has won the 13th Corresponsables award in the category of Responsible Communication and “Best Stakeholder Dialogue Process”. In addition, two other Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of the healthcare group, and their corresponding communication, were finalists in this year’s call for the best advertisement in the written press and the best corporate or audiovisual video: the group’s “en blanco” campaign to raise awareness of the importance of talking about suicide, and the video and original song to teach Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to children.

The awards gala was held yesterday in the auditorium of the IESE Business School in Barcelona, and Ribera Health Group was represented by two members of the Communications Department, Edelweiss Villa, head of Communications at the Vinalopó University Hospital and Ribera Hospital de Molina, and the group’s brand manager, Mónica Jaén. Both highlighted the more than 200 CSR and humanisation actions carried out annually by the group in its hospitals, primary care centres and clinics, thanks to the collaboration of its more than 7,000 professionals.

In 2018, the Ribera healthcare group launched the pet companion programme for long-stay and chronic inpatients at two of its hospitals, as part of the plan to humanise care and improve the patient experience. At the time, it was the first work in this field in the Valencian Community and one of the first in Spain.

Corresponsables is the Ibero-American communication company of reference in Social Responsibility and Sustainability, which began its activity in 2005 in Spain and has progressively extended to Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru, among others, with the aim of valuing and recognising communication initiatives related to CSR in organisations. “It is as important to do things well as it is to make people aware of them”, they say.
